Meet the ReputationDefender Team – 01/29/2010
This past Friday, we skipped out on Meet the ReputationDefender Team, but today we’re back with a vengeance. Two weeks ago on Meet the ReptuationDefender Team, we got to know Internet marketing expert, guitarist, and gearhead Surj Gish. Today, we want you to say hello to the totally awesome Cindy Au.

Who are you and what do you do?
Official name is Cynthia Au, but everyone just calls me Cindy. I am a Customer Support Specialist at ReputationDefender. I ensure customer satisfaction through phone and email contact with customers.
What did you do prior to joining ReputationDefender?
I graduated from University of California, Irvine in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and International Studies. During my last quarter in UCI, I interned at a non-profit in Washington, DC working to establish and build communication between United States and Asia. I also studied abroad in Singapore for half a year.
What attracted you to ReputationDefender?
For me, I need to work at a place where I will be passionate about the company’s mission. I’ve had experience working in various non-profits, and ReputationDefender’s success and philanthropic service appealed to me. I also enjoy the relaxed office atmosphere while being surrounded by sharp people who are incredibly motivated.
Why do you think it’s important for people to manage their reputations online?
In this day and age, first impressions also include a simple Google search. People are not only judged for their actions, but also what is published online. The Internet is a great place to stay up to date with news or master a specific field; however, it’s also a sphere where you can easily post anything about anybody. It is best to control information being published about you and to also manage your reputation.
When you’re not helping individuals control and protect their good names online, what do you like to do in your spare time?
If I’m not hanging out with friends I like staying at home cooking up new recipes.
What’s your all-time favorite website?
I like using Google Reader to keep track of all the sites and blogs I read. Two of my favorite blogs are Luis Tovar’s Pretty Much Amazing, which is one of my favorite music blogs, and Wandering Chopsticks, which is one of my favorite food blogs.
